Keep “cancer” away…eat apples!
Apples can halve the risk of colorectal cancer shows new research from Poland!
A study compared patients suffering from the disease with those who were free from the disease and found a reduced risk from patients who ate an apple a day, while those who ate more than an apple a day reduced their risk by half. The high level of antioxidants in apples is thought to help reduce cancer risk, with the skin of an apple containing five times the level of antioxidants as the flesh.
Importantly, researchers found eating other fruit and vegetables did not have the same effect to lowering the risk of colorectal cancer.
